A brief introduction of RJ45 Connectors
The 8Pins RJ45 connector is a standardized interface which often connects a computer to a Local Area Network (LAN). This type of connector was originally developed for telephone communications but is now used in a range of networking applications. The abbreviation “RJ45” stands for Registered Jack-45. Registered Jack specifications are related to the wiring patterns of the jacks, rather than their physical characteristics. The term RJ45 has also come to refer to a range of connectors for Ethernet jacks. An 8 Position and 8 Contact connector, called an 8P8C, is a modular jack for telecommunication cables. It is also informally referred to as an RJ45.
Types of RJ45 Connector (Female)
RJ45 connector female parts are the recessed sockets, designed for a male RJ45 plug to be inserted into the socket. You will often see these connector sockets referred to as an RJ45 female jack, female RJ45 socket, or similar. They are typically embedded in the body of the device you are trying to connect up, or on wall and panel installations. There are different configurations of female RJ45 sockets which includes: Magnetic Modular Jack which is also called ICM RJ45, Non-Magnetic Modular Jack. The ICM RJ45 is with transformer module integrated inside of the jack body. The Non-Magnetic Modular Jack is without transformer module inside. There are various ports of Magnetic/Non-Magnetic Modular Jack: Single port, 1*N port (1*2, 1*3, 1*3, 1*6, 1*8), Stacked 2*N Ports (2*1, 2*2, 2*3, 2*4, 2*6, 2*8), Combo Types (RJ45+USB, RJ45+HDMI, RJ45+USB Type C etc.). Based on the speed level, it classifies: 10/100 Mbps, 1000Mbps, 1G, 2.5G, 5G, 10G and 40G. Further more, there are 2types of tab positions: tab up and tab down, it depends on the RJ45 plug inserting position into the RJ45 female sockets.
